The 32nd annual Sweet Corn Festival was a wonderful success! The event offered delicious sweetcorn, free music on 3 themed stages, food, beer, soft drinks, a local car show, crafts, merchandise and so much more!  During the two-day event, approximately 40,000 people attended, 20,000 ears of corn were sold, 450 pounds of butter were used and over 300 volunteers worked to make this year's event the most successful Festival ever!  We appreciate the hard work of this year's headliners: The Boat Drunks, Mark Harris and Parliament Funkadelic! Thank you to the businesses and citizens of Urbana, Illinois, for making Champaign County's oldest and largest festival a wonderful event!

11th Annual Motor Muster

The Motor Muster was one of the nicest car shows in our area in terms of variety and quality of antique cars! The show was on Saturday from 10:30 am thru 4:00 pm on the County Plaza parking deck, across Main Street from the County Courthouse. The Motor Muster attracted vehicles from as far away as Chicago, Indianapolis and St Louis.  The show included: brass era vehicles (pre-1916), full classics (selected luxury vehicles built between 1925 and 1948), many orphan makes (no-longer produced), a wide variety of other makes, and muscle and sports cars. There were also be a few antique tractors and motorcycles. Not only was the show free, but hundreds of visitors to the show got to vote for peoples' choice awards. Awards presentations began at 3:30 pm. For more information about the Motor Muster contact Mike, Illini Collector Car Club,  at 355-1704 or mbalogh@balogh.com.

5 and 10K Volksmarches

Volksmarches are non-competitive walks along designated trails. Walkers had the choice of 5 K (3.1 mile) or 10K (6.2 mile) trails. They explored the city's parks and side streets to discover the the historical sights and nature they'd never seen in Urbana. Trail maps highlighted  numerous points of interest along the way. The walks were free and fun. For more information about the walks, contact Mike, Ridgewalkers Walking Club, 355-1704 or mbalogh@balogh.com.
